Job Summary


Moog are recruiting for a Site Sustainment Manager to join our Test Equipment Team in Tewkesbury. This is an opportunity to join an industry leading business who are both forward thinking and proactive which means we’ll be looking for the same characteristics in you.


The primary function of the role is the provision of resource, infrastructure and services to maintain, and ensure continued operation of, test equipment in support of the product life cycle, you will also provide delegated Technical Approval in the provision of Test Equipment Solutions within Moog Aircraft Group.


In this role you will also be required to support the strategic direction of the Test Equipment Sustainment Group and provide leadership for the site function.

 

You need to be a team player demonstrating appropriate virtues, in-line with Moog’s Values, to allow effective leadership of, and participation in, multi-disciplinary and global teams.

 

The ability to function in a demanding engineering and production environment dealing with all aspects of test equipment sustainment, is essential. Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to proactively manage multiple tasks and priorities.

 

The role requires proactive problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to exercise mature judgement.

 

In order to satisfactorily meet the requirements of this position, the candidate must possess strong HR skills in the areas of: verbal and written communications, employee performance monitoring and review, employee training and dealing with a broad spectrum of management disciplines.

 

The role the will require frequent participation and leadership of virtual meetings across multiple time zones. This may require attendance outside of local business hours.

 

The role is expected to be an active member of the Operational Site leadership team, participating and supporting activities in support of the site’s facility and operational strategy.

   

Key Skillset / Expertise


  • Accountable to the Senior Engineering Manager – Global Test Equipment Sustainment and Operational Site Leadership, for the health, safety and welfare of their staff; also accountable for the effective implementation of Moog’s Health and Safety Policy within the area for which they are responsible
  • The role shall execute the responsibilities for personnel staffing, individual performance monitoring/review and training. Selection, mentoring and development of personnel to support the departmental responsibilities and to ensure continued test equipment engineering capability

  • Resource demand forecasting and creation of multi-disciplined site teams eliminating single point failure and ensuring continuity of support

  • Identifying and developing strategic suppliers in the provision of Sustainment Services

  • Spares and obsolescence management for existing deployed assets

  • Resource allocation and long term demand forecasting. Coordinating daily department workload, making immediate short term staffing adjustments as necessary to maintain schedules and minimize test equipment downtime

  • To maintain and control the configuration management of test equipment deployed for operational use at their facility

  • Upholding, fostering and cultivating the Moog culture and philosophy within their function. This includes the values of: Trust, Competence, Team Spirit, Diligence, Accountability, Effective Communication, Adaptability, Recognition and Enjoyment

  • Implementation, administration and continuous improvement of AG TE sustainment processes, procedures, and standard tools

  • Fostering a Lean organization that is responsive to changing requirements, adapting to maintain appropriate levels of support

  • Accountable for the site function’s financial performance, including budget preparation and reporting

  • To cultivate a creative atmosphere, deploying lateral thinking to identify solutions to overcome problems and obstacles to success.

  • To ensure that test equipment is effectively installed, inspected and maintained to ensure the safety of employees and compliance with the legal requirement
