Job Summary


Moog is looking for an experienced Test Equipment Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Test Equipment team based at our Wolverhampton site. In this role, you will be responsible for the development & design of complex mechanical and hydro-mechanical components and systems associated with new product solutions within the global Moog Test Equipment remit.

This includes participation in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard and nonstandard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

The role will also support the site Test Equipment Sustainment Manager by defining and leading appropriate work packages for the maintenance, upgrade and administration of mechanical/ hydraulic solutions on existing Test Equipment deployed across Moog Aircraft Group Facilities and within Customer Facilities.


Key Skills


  • Bachelor Degree, preferably a Masters, in a relevant mechanical/hydro-mechanical subject area as a minimum.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the development of mechanical/hydro-mechanical solutions for multi-axis, closed-loop, servo-hydraulic and electromechanical Test Systems. Including involvement/contribution to the selection and application of Safety Related Equipment.
  • Demonstrable commercial ‘experience of mechanical/hydro-mechanical design solutions. Particularly with application to closed-loop control automated system architectures.
  • Additional, recognised, qualifications in the application of Safety-related Directives and Standards would be advantageous.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: 3D CAD, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, MATLAB or Subversion is advantageous.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, VISO and Project.
  • Must be able to obtain UK Security Clearance
