Under the direction of the Repair Station Quality Manager, addresses customer and internal quality issues in support of the Torrance Repair Station.

You will contribute to the planning, implementation, and administration of cost-effective Quality Programs, assuring that systems are in place and/or being utilized and executed, which will meet or exceed contractual and regulatory requirements.

You will work in conjunction with Product Engineering and Department Supervision, supports warranty and military and commercial customer returns, conduct problem solving investigations on component parts, Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) processes, preliminary inspection, assembly and test areas.


Here's what you’ll be working on:

  • Expect to spend 20% of the time problem solving, 20% supporting inspection and 30% supporting process and operator audits and 30% supporting administrative audits.
  • Work in conjunction with Product Engineering and Department Supervision, supports warranty and military and commercial customer returns , conduct problem solving investigations on component parts,
  • Conduct audits of component maintenance to determine process capability, operator contribution and adequacy of the training and decision making of the operator.
  • Maintenance processes Preliminary Inspection, Repair, Test and Administrative areas of Military and Commercial maintenance (MRO).   
  • Assist  System and Procedure Audit or other investigations as requested.
  • Respond to customer quality requests to resolve regulatory tag errors, requests for repair station documentation (tags, test data, shop findings report, etc.), address hardware discrepancies (damage, lock wire, configuration, name plates, etc.), and coordinate responses with the Final Inspection and the Customer Service Center.
  • Communicate with Final Inspection or other internal groups to investigate issues, make necessary fixes, clarify request requirements, and initiate and support correction actions, as required. Input results of issue findings, supporting attachments, and responses for customers in the appropriate systems.
  •  Interact with MRO Product Engineering and Operations to ensure the required workmanship and product performance to achieve the most efficient process possible.
  • Assist with OJT and training files.
  • Support containment activities in the event of Recalls, Service Difficulty Reports, Quality Alerts, through stock /WIP traces, examination of hardware, documentation as required.
  • Support customer and FAA, CAAC, EASA, CASE audits – Audit prep activities, documentation, etc.
  • Complete customer surveys and questionnaires on a as needed basis, tracked also in salesforce.
  • Initiate complaint handling reports in TIP QA and assist in Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR) investigations.
  • Perform or assist performing product audits, CMM validations, and Capability List Self-Evaluations.
  • Other duties assigned.

At a minimum, you’ll need to meet these Basic Qualifications: 

  • Associate Degree or Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics license, and 3 years technical experience in Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Assembly & Test, or Quality related field.
  • Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen
  • FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements

Preferred Qualifications Include: 

  • Familiar with FAA/EASA regulatory requirements.
  • Aftermarket and station repair experience a plus
  • Self-motivated and can follow through on assignments with limited supervision.
