    Moog Inc. designs and manufactures high-end technical components on a global scale. Some of the amazing products we produce include actuators, slip rings, fiber optic rotary joints, CT Scans, medical devices, and countless other products.     Responsible for the systems and mechanical design of complex rotary servo motion assemblies for harsh environments and high reliability applications in aerospace, military and civilian markets.
    Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Establish concepts and requirements as needed to direct and/or conduct the design efforts in a variety of engineering disciplines to include mechanical, structural dynamics, electrical, thermal and rotary motion leading to development of integrated electromechanical systems and electromechanical motion systems.
  • Based on fundamental engineering principles, predict the system level performance of candidate approaches and select the optimum approach to fit the needs of the customer.
  • Lead an integrated product development team and coordinate the efforts of other engineers to insure timely and successful project completion.
  • Track the project progress and report program status to senior level management. 
  • Understand/interpret customer specifications and requirements.
  • Prepare statements of work and product specifications and be the primary interface with suppliers and customers for all technical aspects of a program.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical or aeronautical engineering discipline and 3 years of experience in design and analysis or Masters Degree in mechanical, electrical or aeronautical engineering.
  • 3D CAD experience
  • FEA Experience
  • MatLab/Simulink or similar
  • This job requires access to the US export controlled information

Must have

  • Strong mechanical design/packaging skills
  • Proposal support
  • Precision electromechanical design experience
  • High reliability environment design experience
  • Good basic electrical skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Recent "hands on" design experience   

Must be

  • A self-starter, able to work independently of close supervision
  • Able to work in team environment
  • Able to use CAD/CAE (UG NX is desirable)
  • Able to perform motion simulation
  • Knowledgeable of motion control techniques
