Moog is looking for a Planning Supervisor to join our growing Materials department.  In this role, you will supervise and work closely with our team of Planners to accomplish tactical and strategic initiatives.  This position is located at our aerospace manufacturing plant in Torrance, CA.

Here's what you’ll be working on: 

  • Supervise the activities of the Planning team

  • Through the Planners, this role will direct the operation to produce the right product in the right order for internal and external customer demand.

  • Implement lean tools and standard work to achieve a high level of material accuracy.

  • Through continuous improvement efforts, improve inventory turns.

  • Reduce obligated inventory liability through negotiation and supplier development.

  • Utilize systems (ERP, MBS, RR, and DDMRP) to improve forecasting to supply base and reduce lead times.

  • Reduce handling and increase point of use material availability by implementing industry standards and best practices.

  • As new products are brought on-line or taken out of production, support the organization to configure planning parameters, manufacturing BOM parameters and demand crossovers.

  • Communicate and engage across organizational functions

At a minimum, you’ll need to meet these Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an  accredited institution

  • Minimum 5 years of production Planning/Materials experience in Manufacturing

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience

  • Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)


Preferred Qualifications Include:  

  • Prefer that the Bachelor’s degree is in Business or Industrial Management

  • Production Planning/Materials experience in the Aerospace industry strongly preferred

  • MRP experience; SAP experience is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with Excel Pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions

  • Experience making professional presentations to upper management.

  • APICS CPIM certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certified
  • Experience with Kinasix Rapid Response platform and DDMRP process

  • SQL programming experience; database management experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to influence others to accomplish tasks
