Moog is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer – Systems Architect for our growing Systems Engineering department, working on next generation aircraft controls for military and commercial aircraft.  We are expanding our staff as we grow our technology, mission areas, and market share.  Moog engineers are challenged with meeting demanding performance requirements, designing safety critical systems, and delivering systems that will perform in harsh environments.  In this role, you will develop the architecture and be responsible for the effectiveness of the system level technical solution created to support the customer’s needs.  This position is located in Torrance, CA.


As a Staff Systems Engineer – Systems Architect, you will…

  • Determine the physical properties of the systems that are critical to satisfying  the customer’s needs and concerns
  • Build physics based performance models of the system and exercising the  models over the entire operational environment
  • Create the requirements baselines for the project and leading system  level integration and test
  • Participate in the strategic side of the business by developing product platforms, new integration and test methodologies
  • Participate in the business unit strategy development and technology roadmaps

Minimum Qualifications to be Considered… 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software or Systems Engineering, (MS or PhD preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in the field of Aerospace Engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of incorporating high standards  of safety and reliability into the design of aircraft control systems

Preferred Qualifications Include… 
  • Proven general capabilities/competencies in Building Strategic Working Relationships, Planning and Organizing, and Customer Focus
  • Proven specific capabilities/competencies in Requirements Management,   - Verification and Validation Methods, Control System Design Integration and Test
