Moog is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer to support a Strategic Research and Development effort in Weapon Integration and Stores Management Systems. In this role, your activities will include definition, design, integration and test of weapon systems hardware.  Applicants should thrive on a challenge and enjoy working on cutting edge applications and should bring solid and demonstrated expertise in design engineering, project management, and weapon systems integration.  This position is located in Torrance, CA OR Fort Worth, TX.

In this role you will…
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to a weapon system integration team, operating as the Technical Project Lead.
  • System Architecture development and generating design artifacts.
  • Design Requirements management including Decomposition and Flow down
  • System Performance and Interface Control
  • Integration & Test, planning of Stores Management components
  • Verification & Validation and Analysis of requirements
  • Primary technical interface for Moog management, customer representatives, and suppliers.
  • Proactive communicating progress against commitments, deliverables, cost/schedule and risk
  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems for root cause.  Identify and implement accurate solutions in a dynamic work environment.
  • Generate reports and presentations based on results from modeling and simulations focused on system performance and safety.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to other Moog sites, customer sites (US based) is required – 10-25% 

Minimum Qualifications to be considered… 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years progressive engineering experience in the aerospace industry
  • Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications Include… 

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in the field of Weapons / Stores Integration or related field
  • Core competencies in weapon systems architecture, requirements management, verification & validation, and system integration & test
  • Demonstrated experience in weapons system integration
  • Project Engineering leadership and communication skills for teams of up to 12 members
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience working with critical Stores Management Systems (including hardware and software)
  • Experience with integration of MIL-STD-1760 weapons
  • Familiarity with the Universal Armament Interface (UAI)
  • Thorough knowledge of design trades for safety, reliability, and fault tolerance
  • Experience with aircraft payload integration, planning, and testing
  • Experience in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow tools as a mechanism for driving requirements development is a plus
