General Function:

This position is responsible for the design and development of embedded software/firmware for Moog’s Motor & Motion Control products. The software design engineer is a trained professional who determines the approach necessary to resolve technical challenges and has a demonstrated ability to operate within established cost and schedule constraints. 


 Key Responsibilities:

•      Development of embedded software for real-time control of Moog’s range of servo-drive products.

•      Involvement in all aspects of the software life cycle i.e. requirements definition, architectural design, implementation, integration and testing as part of a multi-site development team. This will involve some travel.

•      Participate in design reviews, code reviews etc as required.

•      Work towards achievement of defined project goals/milestones within tight project schedules.

•      Delivery of other software work products (documentation) that meets   contractual requirements and in conformance

•      Aid in the ongoing improvement of Moog’s software development processes by suggesting improvements, reporting metrics, and participating on Process Improvement Teams.



Minimum Qualifications:


•      Bachelor degree in the field of Electrical or Electronic engineering, plus a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the design/development/test of real-time embedded systems.Bachelor of Science degree in other engineering fields, and Computer Science, may be considered with appropriate additional experience in the design/development/test of embedded systems.

•      Knowledge of power electronics and thermal management.

•      Desired behavioral competencies include: Innovation, adaptability, decision making, communications, customer focus, building strategic working relationships, energy, initiating action, quality orientation, managing work.

•      Intermediate technical competency required in Applied Science, knowledge of Customer Technology, Data Acquisition, Diagnostic Skills, Document Interpretation, and Engineering & Technology.

•      Advanced technical competency required in Computer Applications, Document Creation, and Math.

•      Proficient in the C language.

•      Results oriented and deadline driven with a high degree of accountability, commitment and responsibility. Ability to produce very high quality results under tight time constraints.

•      Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with senior customers, management and team members. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
