Senior Program Manager – Military Aftermarket

 

Moog’s Aircraft Group (AG) has been offering Superior Engineering and Advanced Technologies to the Commercial and Military Aircraft Market for over six decades. Bill Moog’s invention enabled the technology for Fly-by-Wire flight controls used in today’s modern aircraft. Today Moog offers integrated flight control solutions, actuation control systems, and product based solutions for much of the commercial and military aircraft market, both here in the US and Globally.  We are actively working a number of high profile development programs and have recently been selected as the flight control lead system integrator for several new programs. As a result, we are looking for highly motivated and talented engineers who thrive on challenge and enjoy working on cutting-edge applications.

 

As the Senior Program Manager in our military aftermarket group, you will report to the Army Business Unit  Manager (BUM) all aspects of programs from contract pre-award proposal activities through end item delivery. This includes support to contracts and Cost engineering efforts through fact-finding and negotiations. You will typically be responsible for several programs and act as the single point of contact for customers and/or manager day to day interactions through Moog contracts.

 
As a Senior Program Manager, you will…
 
  • Identify, Plan and Direct proposal development for required follow on orders for assigned programs
  • Support the Sales efforts in proposing on new programs
  • Acts as the primary contact with the customer for passing information in either direction
  • Assure that the contractual requirements for hardware and software are met through planning, monitoring and expediting
  • Assure a professional relationship with the customer through positive interactions and timely responses to requests, both verbal and written
  • Develop the master program schedule with Manufacturing and Engineering, and coordinate schedule plans and changes with the customer
  • Monitor program costs, schedules, task completion and deliveries against the program plan.
  • Report program status to Business Unit Manager/management on a regular basis, reports major events and the problems as they occur. Have ability to multitask multiple programs at one time
  • Support and at times provide inputs to planning for development of bookings and sales Forecasts
  • Coordinates, documents and distribute reports on customer visits which include status of current programs, leads on new business and trends in hardware problems, and program pricing

Minimum qualifications to be considered…

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5+ years of program related work experience
  • Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)

Preferred Qualifications include…

  • Strongly prefer program management experience in the manufacturing of product for the aerospace or defense industries. Procurement, Planning and Operations background desired
  • Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree is in Engineering or other technical discipline
  • Experience working with DoD customers; knowledge of DoD contractual terms, conditions and requirements
  • Former military experience is helpful with access to bases
  • Strategic and technical understanding of the military aftermarket business environment
  • Experience with flight actuation systems, control systems, or electronic systems
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel and Power point
  • PMI PMP certified
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare presentation materials to internal groups and customers
  • Negotiation skills to facility agreement on technical and contractual matters
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others
