We are looking to hire a Sr. Electrical Engineer who will lead the conceptual design, analysis, development, and test of complex avionics used on military, commercial and NASA satellites. The products of Moog generally are unique for each customer. Therefore, most new applications require a special, tailored design, even though adaptation of existing designs always should be considered where appropriate. The Avionics Engineer will operate as part of a design/development team, which includes other department engineers. You may be called upon to coordinate the work of designers, technicians, procurement specialists and others who assist in specific assignments.

 

Job Duties:

This position requires working with small teams to ensure the delivery of quality satellite electronic products on time and under budget.  This includes responsibility for all aspects related to the product including design, analysis, documentation, support of procurement, support of manufacturing and test.  Some examples of this include: requirements tracking, worst case analysis, parts stress analysis, power analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, writing user guides, static timing, dynamic timing and signal integrity analysis.  The responsibilities also include working with the customers and partners throughout the design process, including presenting during reviews.

 

Required:

This position requires a minimum of 10 years of satellite electronic systems design and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering.  Experience must include printed circuit board and FPGA VHDL design.   The printed circuit board experience must include high speed design techniques.  Experience with the following tools is preferred: ModelSim, Synplify Pro, Xilinx ISE, Actel/Microsemi Designer, Intercept’s Mozaix, LabVIEW, PERL, Hyperlynx, PSPICE
