Our Senior Engineering Manager is a global position responsible for ensuring overall staffing adequacy for all Moog development programs to achieve maximum efficiency for their function for the AC Group as a whole and are ultimately responsible for delivering their team’s products. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will ensure functional initiatives are fully integrated into the project engineering and new product introduction activities. Additionally, at Moog, Sr. Engineering Managers are responsible for hiring, performance reviews, training, and overall personnel development.

In this visible role, you are responsible to ensure the integration of engineering work through several direct manger reports, balancing the staffing needs of multiple programs. You will lead the technical proposal with the Engineering functions to ensure that all technical requirements defined to be in scope are accounted for, and work with Program Management to generate a fully resourced loaded schedule that describes the detailed tasking to execute the scoped work insuring all aspects of the New Product Introduction Process (NPI) are followed and met.  At Moog, our Sr. Engineering Managers are systemic thinkers with the ability to understand how engineering interacts and influences the balance of the business. They also provide the engineering and business acumen for resolution of technical issues related to the product and process integrity and customer interface for Aircraft Group products and Supplier processes.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll be expected to:

  • Be a strong leader of people and team builder, as well as an excellent communicator at all levels both internally and externally
  • Demonstrate history of building effective relationships with functional teams and customers
  • Possess strong analytical abilities and be able to prioritize, coordinate and manage complex operational issues and processes
  • Bring excellent working knowledge of business systems / processes as well as have demonstrated people management skills
  • Influence decisions in all functions within the group that impact technical integrity, cost, deliveries and customer relationship
  • Travel internationally and domestically at least 10% and support and/or lead virtual meetings across multiple time zones outside local business hours

At a minimum, you will need to meet these qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Manager in a leadership role. Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. An advanced (graduate level) degree in Engineering is a plus
  • Demonstrated business acumen, with the ability to engage the right organizational resources to quickly and effectively resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade in situations where emotions can run high and pressure to perform is great
  • Relevant industry experience is highly desirable.  The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an appropriate balance of strong leadership and relationship building
  • Proven capabilities in managing and working collaboratively within a multicultural geographically dispersed environment
