Moog Space and Defense Group in Huntsville, AL is looking for a Regional Business Development Manager.

Job Summary


The focus of this position is currently on the US market only and includes DCS pursuits with all branches of the armed services, with the initial focus on the US Army and US Marine Corps.
You will be responsible for organizing, both long and short term capture strategies, and leading related proposal efforts for the DCS business unit. You will lead initiatives with the Moog Washington Ops personnel (include DOD playbook), our business partners, and numerous customer organizations (MCoE, all Development and Engineering Centers, ARCIC, TRADOC, TACOM, PEO’s, the Pentagon and other BtoB relationships with traditional Primes). Also, you will be responsible for broadening the customer base and expanding the growth of the Business Unit. Coordination across the Army user-community is critical. (TRADOC, CFTs, DA Staff and the Acquisition Corps).

What you’ll be working on day to day: 

  • Monthly site forecast update (both bookings and sales).
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Capture strategy for each business opportunity
  • Generate a comprehensive summary of all customer meetings and maintain an action register for all capture initiatives
  • Active participation in DCS leadership team business growth initiatives
  • Work within the communities noted in section 1 to identify and rank opportunities, to include strategies to align requirements to BU potential offerings as driven by user needs/interests
  • Leverage Moog internal resources, especially BU leadership, by acting as a bridge to user needs/interests and translating those interests into actionable efforts which optimize the use of the internal resource talents to solve those challenging problems, resulting in a product which customers want to buy
  • Lead proposal response team for elements not related to cost or program management


What you’ll need to bring with you: 

  • Understanding of bookings / sales forecasting, operations planning and financial reporting
  • Proven specific capabilities in: selling, relationship building, negotiation and collaborative business strategy planning
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organizational ability, facilitation and presentation skills
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical discipline with business graduate courses or an undergraduate degree with the necessary work experience (typically 10 or more years) within the US Army or USMC
  • Be a retired officer in the US Army or US Marine Corps
