Quality Manufacturing Inspector
 
The main focus of this position is to diagnose complex, difficult, long-term problem jobs and develop the preventative steps necessary to avoid recurrence of the problem(s) in accordance with Moog quality standards.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Propose preventative actions necessary to avoid recurrence of problems on complex, long term jobs.
  • Develop and maintain positive problem solving relationships with various engineering functions
  • Perform a wide variety of conventional/traditional inspection operations utilizing various inspection techniques such as SPC, geometric tolerancing, etc.
  • Operate and create small Zeiss Coordinator Measuring Machine (CMM) programs to facilitate inspections.
  • Personal computer software packages such as excel, word and access.
  • Assist machinists in quality related activities (use and care of inspection equipment, interpretation of blueprints).
Basic Requirements:
  • A two year technical degree with at least 3 years’ machine shop and/or quality experience, to include CMM experience
OR
  • A high school diploma, or equivalent, with at least seven years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or quality environment, with CMM experience
Preferred Requirements:
  • Have an above average understanding of Statistical Control (SPC) techniques as well as the ability to operate and create small programs on the Zeiss CMM.
  • The ability to demonstrate the tact necessary to bring various parties together for positive problem resolution.
  • Possess and maintain a high level of integrity.
  • Demonstration of a wide variety of inspection techniques and skills are necessary that include but are not limited to: geometric tolerancing, complex trigonometry and advanced blueprint reading.
  • Be proficient in the use of standard and non‑standard gauging and must be able to work with or without standard manufacturing methodology (i.e. operation sheets).
