Summary:

 

The Quality Manager promotes, develops, and oversees compliance of the company quality system. Effectively assuring compliance of customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Collaborate closely with operations, engineering and R&D teams to ensure proper implementation, sustainability, and compliance of manufacturing processes and quality systems.

  • Ensures compliance with the customer requirements, quality policy, company standards, regulatory and external standards (including ISO 9001) .Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.

  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures. Brings together staff of different disciplines and drives the group to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures.

  • Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.

  • Performs and coordinates quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.

  • Develops and implements the Quality led APQP activities specified within company process to assure quality from concept to production.

  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.

  • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.

  • Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.

  • Investigates customer complaints regarding quality and ensures the appropriate corrective actions are taken to minimize repeated complaints.

    Supervisory Responsibilities
    Directly supervises 5-8 employees in the Quality Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university plus a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or an Associate’s Degree and 15 years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in implementing and maintaining ISO certified systems i.e. ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 of ISO9001 experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ – Certified Quality Manager

  • Electrical or mechanical experience

  • Industrial or automotive background
