Moog Space and Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: satellites, human-rated space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance. Emerging areas of focus include metal additive manufacturing, blockchain for supply chain, sensor integration, and propulsion test facilities.

 

Moog is looking for a Production Operator to work in the Motion Control Department at the North Facility

located at 1513 North Main Street, Blacksburg, VA.

*This will be a full-time position,40 hours per week

 

Responsibilities:

  • Complete basic assembly operations using required manufacturing documentation
  • Correctly store, clean and maintain tools, equipment, and chemicals; verify calibration dates and seals
  • Perform electrical testing using automated test equipment
  • Solder, read from blueprints, and use microscopes
  • Complete paperwork required for each part, accurately & legibly
  • Perform minor rework per Standard Rework Procedures., Quality History Tag Instructions, or rework router
  • This job requires access to US export-controlled information

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Quality conscious and have a mechanical aptitude with good dexterity

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Will be required to complete an in-house soldering certification
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in reading blueprints is a plus
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is a plus
  • Ability to use a microscope on small parts for long periods of time
