Moog Space and Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: satellites, human-rated space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance. Emerging areas of focus include metal additive manufacturing, blockchain for supply chain, sensor integration, and propulsion test facilities.


Moog Orrville’s Manufacturing Department is looking for a 2nd shift Machine Operator II


The general purpose of this position is to operate equipment, to produce precision metal parts and begin basic inspections of machined parts. Receives general instructions on routine work and/or new assignments, if required.



  • Be responsible to perform setup documentation and machine setup
  • Perform some programming (with assistance as needed)
  • Operate machines and inspect their work
  • Take ownership of necessary documentation and paperwork, as required
  • Be expected to meet all standards for quality and quantity of work on machines you’ve been operating for at least 3 weeks



  • A High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Two to five years of related machine shop experience
  • Technical and/or trade school degree (preferred)
  • Experience with Mazak programming and machines (strongly desired)
