Moog Inc. has an opportunity for a JIT Operator on 1st shift at our Murphy, NC location.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Sets up machines for different wind patterns

  • Transfers coils from winding machine to insert tooling 

  • Operate insert tooling to insert coils

  • Check travelers for proper leads and sequence 

  • Twist ends of coil wires together to connect pre-wound coils of electric motor and generator parts, such as stators and/or rotors, using soldering equipment and hand tools

  • Cuts protruding insulating material splices lead connections of stator coils and lead wire using wire twisters 

  • Connections dipped in molten solder using soldering pot and ladle 

  • Tapes connections 

  • Sews coils to prevent loose wires

  • Places units on stand

  • Checks traveler to determine sew pattern

  • Position leads on top of coils

  • Sew to tie down loose wires.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Good basic math skills

  • Ability to work with exposure to various chemicals

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work overtime and/or Saturdays, if required.

 

 

Preferred Requirements:

 

  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints

  • Prior soldering experience

  • Ability to interpret adjustable measuring instruments

 

 

Qualified internal candidates will have first preference for consideration for this position.

Due to the training time required, the person selected for this job will have to remain in the position for a period of one year before becoming eligible to bid on other jobs within the facility.
