  • We are looking for a FPGA Design Engineer to design, develop, modify, and evaluate complex FPGA / Digital designs for the military and aerospace markets. You will also be responsible for the development of application specific software/firmware solutions for integration into complex embedded systems. The FPGA Design Engineer will operate as part of a design/development team, which includes other Department engineers.


Here’s what you’ll be working on day to day:


  • Implementing designs using current technology such as FPGAs, Microprocessors, DSPs, and Interface Controllers.
  • VHDL Coding, Verification, Synthesis, Timing analysis, Unit test, and hardware modeling and simulation of complex high-speed digital logic.
  • Developing complex electronics, as well as supporting modifications and product enhancements to existing products.
  • Maintaining involvement in all phases of the development life cycle including development of requirements and design documents, project plans, test plans, test execution, and training customers on the use of the products.

 Here’s the skills we need you to bring with you:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Computer or Software Engineering, or Computer Science plus five years of relevant FPGA design/development experience, preferably in the military or aerospace industry.
  • Extensive experience with Xilinx FPGA logic and IP including the Xilinx Vivado development platform is essential.
  • Knowledge of Python, C, C++, C#, embedded development, Windows development, .NET, Visual Studio, and Git is preferred.
  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms and GPU processing and an interest in the general knowledge of electronics would be a distinct advantage.
  • Hands on working knowledge in embedded systems board level programming, single board computers running a Linux operating system, technical documentation/user guide writing for software and system.
  • Advanced technical competency required in Computer Applications, Document Creation, and Math.
  • Experience with the latest commercial PowerPC, ARM, DSP and GPU processors, high-speed PCB design are considered a plus.
