The Associate Facilities Engineer reports to the Facility Manager, Aircraft Group who directs the activities of the Facilities Department.  Primarily, this position provides engineering support to interacting Facility functions, including machine and process maintenance, plant maintenance, and building and grounds. In addition, support is provided to the Manufacturing Engineering and EH&S Departments. Communication across all levels of management will be required. Under the direction of the Facilities Engineer, the incumbent performs engineering, design, and construction coordination activities at the site.  These activities include plant rearrangements, new construction, and maintenance activities for the entire campus.  This includes the analysis of present and proposed operations, processes, manufacturing equipment installations, material handling techniques, and the introduction of improvements to reduce operation time and cost.  The incumbent will interface with Operations Management, Facilities staff, outside contractors and vendors to achieve their objectives.


Here's what you’ll be working on:

  • Plan and schedule facility moves and equipment modifications, initiate the appropriate documentation (capital approvals, bid specification packages, purchase order requests, etc.) to effect implementation.
  • Coordinate construction / rearrangement projects in the field. 
  • Monitor and inspect for quality, workmanship, best practices, code conformance, and completeness. 
  • Assist contractors in the resolution of design changes, interact with purchasing to negotiate best price for initial work and change orders. 
  • Monitor and manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Assure layouts are coordinated with maintenance, building services and environmental groups pertaining to power, communications, water, air, hydraulics, drainage, HVAC and environmental impacts.
  • Plan, assign, guide and follow up the design and construction activities of supporting Facility in-house and outside contract employees.
  • Maintain / update facility occupancy and square footage information for long range space planning.
  • Maintain documentation of existing distribution systems for power, communications, security, water, air sewer, storm drainage hydraulic and fire protection.
  • Subject may be called upon after normal working hours and on weekends to coordinate facility projects that cannot be accomplished during regular work periods due to interruptions of critical production schedules.
  • Occasional national / international travel may be required to support facility related projects at other Moog Facilities and subsidiaries.

At a minimum, you’ll need to meet these Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in the field of Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Facilities Engineering
  • 2 years of experience in plant engineering and maintenance
  • Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
Preferred Qualifications Include: 
  • Engineering design skills, including a comprehensive knowledge of standard engineering symbolism related to electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building construction
  • Use of computer aided design and maintenance management software
  • Familiarity with International Building Codes, the NEC, OSHA, and Environmental regulations
  • Experience in Lean practices
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry
