Moog’s Aircraft Group (AG) has been offering Superior Engineering and Advanced Technologies to the Commercial and Military Aircraft Market for over six decades. Bill Moog’s invention enabled the technology for Fly-by-Wire flight controls used in today’s modern aircraft. Today Moog offers integrated flight control solutions, actuation control systems, and product based solutions for much of the commercial and military aircraft market, both here in the US and Globally.  We are actively working a number of high profile development programs and have recently been selected as the flight control lead system integrator for several new programs. As a result, we are looking for highly motivated and talented engineers who thrive on challenge and enjoy working on cutting-edge applications.

Currently, our AG, in our East Aurora, New York office, is seeking to add an Electrical Engineering Manager, to lead the Electrical Design Engineering Team. At Moog, our Electrical Engineering Managers:   

  • Have direct reports, including ECAD/MCAD Technicians, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, Sr. Design Engineers, Staff Engineers, and Engineering Section Heads
  • Organize, allocate, direct, and motivate the resources of this group to provide high quality engineering work, which is consistent with the companies objectives
  • Are responsible for resource management to EVMS schedules

Here’s what you’ll work on:
  • Lead and manage the technology development of a multi-disciplinary engineering staff matrixed across concurrent development programs
  • Manage a collaborative innovation environment to challenging development objectives
  • Perform a variety of direct employee management and supervisory functions including hiring, training, allocating resources, supervision, and growing highly skilled technical personnel through on-going performance and development reviews
  • Analyze team performance and communicate design process performance using EVMS methods
  • Identify strategic and budgetary control opportunities relating to engineering estimates, development lifecycle performance, and outstanding development risk to schedule and cost performance
  • Lead design engineering process development though maturation of process standards, templates, specifications, and automation to increase the design process consistency, replicability, and efficiency
Here are the skills you will bring with you:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; with 7 years of related experience, with 3 years as a Senior Design Engineer or equivalent;
  • Alternatively, Master of Science; with a minimum of 5 years related experience, with at least 1 year as a Senior Design Engineer or equivalent
  • Self-starter; willing to make sound decisions and initiate action without prior counseling or direction
  • Possess the technical knowledge and the personal integrity required to earn the respect of subordinates
  • Must have the interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels within Moog and at the customer/vendor level

Ability to travel domestic and/or internationally – approximately 10%

 

Position is located out of our East Aurora, New York office. Interested and eligible candidates shall have the ability to relocate to East Aurora, NY.
