The Quality Director – Commercial OE & Aftermarket is a global position responsible for the systemic translation and alignment of customer and business quality requirements of the Commercial Sector throughout the Aircraft Group. The Quality Director – Commercial OE & Aftermarket will be a key participant in the Quality Leadership Team as well as the Quality Representative on the Sector Leadership Teams.




  • Member of the Quality Leadership team with additional accountability to the Commercial Sector Leadership Teams and is involved with strategic direction and planning.
  • Ability to think systemically and, where needed, be able to create new and innovative structures or processes that proactively improve customer quality and business growth.
  • Develops risk abatement strategies to effectively support long term customer quality with a focus on error prevention and continually improved product/service quality.
  • Develop appropriate measures to ensure quality processes in the business capture and product and process development value streams are effective and meeting customer and business objectives.
  • Promotes a customer focused quality culture in the organization.
  • Cross functional collaboration with peer group to achieve Group and Sector level goals
  • Individual must be highly process orientated with the ability to understand how Quality interacts with the business and the customer.
  • Directs business decisions that will have long term financial and strategic impact.
  • Effectiveness of these decisions is directly related to the profitability of Group.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required. An Advanced (graduate level) degree in Engineering or Business is a plus
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Manager in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading change and driving improvement in customer quality and business performance. .
  • Demonstrated business acumen, with the ability to engage the right organizational resources to quickly and effectively resolve customer problems.
  • Relevant industry experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an appropriate balance of strong process leadership and relationship building.
  • Proven capabilities in managing and working collaboratively within a multicultural geographically dispersed environment.
  • Experience in budgeting and cost control management.
  • Travel to different operational areas of the business is necessary
  • Excellent organization and project management skills with the flexibility/ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects that produce enterprise-wide result
  • Strong oral/written/persuasive communication skills and a demonstrated ability to appropriately make decisions while keeping stakeholders informed
  • Influencing, problem solving, innovation and collaboration skills are essential
  • High personal standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Compatibility with Moog’s culture & values
  • Ability to relocate to East Aurora, NY.
