Our Space & Defense Group is hiring for a Business Analyst in Salt Lake City, UT

The Business Analyst will apply tasks and techniques used to work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the organization, and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. The SBA candidate will take a leadership role in finding the critical information necessary to develop high-quality analyses. The role necessitates identifying and evaluating requirements for business change and specifically ensuring that business requirements are documented and translated into effective business solutions, representing the business within the technical delivery arena.

As a Business Analyst, you can expect to work on…
  • The documentation of process and information requirements in support of internal and external customer initiatives. Evaluation of business objectives that require new or enhanced processes or systems as well as final solution recommendations.
  • Provision of analytical support to business users and other IT personnel to both determine specific problem areas, and conduct research for the identification, evaluation and implementation of possible solutions.
  • Provision of effective liaison between IT personnel and business departments or external vendors.
  • Contributes to the development of, and adheres to, Moog standards of structured processes for the change management processes necessary for the successful design, development, testing and deployment of systems.
  • Lead the user preparation and participation in requirements gathering workshops including business goals, processes, decision criteria, and user requirements.
  • Work in collaboration with the Solution Architect and Project Manager to help guide the customer to a solution that will meet the requirements while aiming to stay within the boundaries of the project timeline, budget and technical solution complexity.
  • The ongoing management of business requirements for quality control and re-use.
A successful candidate will have…
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical or business discipline with a minimum of six years’ experience; or a Master Degree in those same disciplines.
  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) obtained through the IIBA, or equivalent, is desired.
  • Advanced level of business acumen.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, coupled with ability to listen, question and understand end users’ needs.
